Bandits Kill One, Abduct Four in Kaduna, Kogi, Ondo

In a series of violent attacks across Kaduna, Kogi, and Ondo states, bandits killed one person and abducted four others. In Kaduna, gunmen struck in Makarfi Local Government Area on Sunday night, where residents reported hearing sporadic gunfire.

The body of an elderly woman was discovered, and Abdulrahman Adamu described the incident as terrifying, noting the increasing frequency of such attacks. The Kaduna State Police Command, represented by DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the attack and reported the arrest of two suspects.

In Kogi, a farmer named Raphael was abducted while working near the Lawri River in Odo Er, Yagba West Local Government Area on Saturday around noon. Local vigilante hunters were alerted and began tracking the assailants.

In response to rising insecurity, Hon. Tosin Olokun, the Yagba West LGA chairman and Kogi State ALGON chairman, imposed a curfew.

In Ondo, two individuals, including Joseph Kayode and a woman named Esther Akinlolu, were abducted by three masked gunmen at a farm settlement on Monday, approximately five kilometers from Akure Airport. The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the abductions and stated that investigations are ongoing.
