Bandits Kill 13 Worshipers During Morning Prayers in Katsina

Thirteen worshipers were tragically killed during morning prayers in Mantau community, Katsina State. The state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu'azu, confirmed the deaths and described the incident as a reprisal attack by criminal elements.

The Katsina State Government has announced immediate security reinforcements in response to the attack. The worshipers, who were Muslim members of the community, were praying in a mosque when the attackers opened fire.

In a successful defense effort, the community members laid an ambush, resulting in the death of several bandits and the rescue of many victims. Security agencies on the ground have seized weapons and are working to restore peace in the area.

The government has reiterated its commitment to eliminating criminal elements in the state and expressed condolences to the affected families.
