Worshippers Killed As Gunmen Attack Mosque In Katsina

Gunmen attacked a mosque in Katsina State, killing at least 13 worshippers in what is believed to be a reprisal attack. The incident occurred in Unguwan Mantau village in Malumfashi Local Government Area.

The state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu'azu, confirmed the assault, stating that it was in retaliation for a recent ambush by bandits in the area. The attackers stormed the mosque during the early morning Fajr prayer and opened fire on worshippers, causing chaos.

Security personnel from the army, police, and air force have been deployed to the community to restore calm. The motive behind the attack and the identity of the gunmen are currently under investigation.
