Bandits Kill Three, Abduct Woman in Sokoto Attack

In a midnight attack on Monday at approximately 1:20 AM, bandits stormed Bargaja Village in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, resulting in the deaths of at least three residents and the abduction of a woman. Sources, who spoke anonymously, reported that the gunmen outsmarted local vigilantes and launched an overpowering assault on the community.

Residents expressed their concerns regarding the inadequate security presence in the area, emphasizing the need for relevant authorities to intensify efforts to protect the community. Allegations were made that calls for reinforcements went unanswered, and the local police station was reportedly far from the village, complicating response efforts.

The local government chairman, Sharehu Abubakar Kamarawa, and the state police public relations officer, Ahmad Rufai, were unable to be reached for comments at the time of the report.
