Bandits Kill Community Guard, Abduct Residents in Sokoto

In a recent attack in Sabon Birni, Sokoto State, bandits killed a community guard and abducted multiple residents. Aminu Boza, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly representing the Sabon Birni constituency, confirmed the incident, noting that several people were taken away by the assailants.

However, the exact number of abducted individuals has not yet been verified. Boza mentioned that the community, which is small, has been affected by insecurity, with residents fleeing to nearby bushes during the attack.

The assault occurred near the Eid prayer ground on the outskirts of Sabon Birni. The slain community guard sustained gunshot wounds to the hand during the attack and was later transported to a hospital on Tuesday morning.

A spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, DSP Ahmad Rufa, stated that they had not yet received detailed information about the incident but promised to contact the division police officer in charge of the area for further updates.
