Troops Foil Terrorist Attacks, Rescue Victims in Kaduna

On September 10 and 11, 2026, operations by the Joint Task Force North West led to significant engagements with terrorists in Kaduna and Zamfara. On September 10, troops from Sector 1 responded to a distress call regarding terrorist activities in Unguwan Gardago Village, Kaduna North Local Government Area.

The terrorists had robbed residents of motorcycles and mobile phones and abducted a civilian to guide them. Troops mounted an ambush, forcing the terrorists to flee and abandon stolen items, including three motorcycles and weapon components.

Unfortunately, the abducted civilian was killed by the terrorists, and his body was recovered and returned to his relatives. On September 11, Sector 2 troops observed terrorists attacking a Canter vehicle on the Anka–Gummi Road in Zamfara.

The troops engaged the terrorists, leading to the rescue of three kidnapped victims and the recovery of terrorist communication equipment.
