Bandits Kill Three Soldiers in Kwara State Attack

On Monday, Governor AbdulRazaq of Kwara State confirmed that three soldiers were killed during a fresh attack by suspected bandits in the Kaiama Local Government Area. The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday when soldiers engaged the assailants to prevent further casualties.

Governor AbdulRazaq praised the bravery of the fallen soldiers, describing them as heroes who paid the ultimate price. He extended condolences to the families of the deceased and assured them of continued support.

The incident heightened tensions in the area, following reports of a coordinated attack around 3:00 AM, which included threats allegedly sent to residents. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the attackers stormed the community under the cover of darkness, firing indiscriminately and causing panic.

Following the attack, local youth called for a temporary suspension of political activities during the mourning period, while former student union president K Musa condemned the worsening insecurity and urged political leaders to take decisive action.
