Bandits Attack Sokoto Community, Killing Two Residents

On Monday morning, bandits attacked the Dukura community in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the rustling of livestock and motorcycles. The attackers blocked the road connecting the affected communities to Tambuwal market, seizing cows, camels, sheep, and motorcycles from local residents, particularly commercial motorcycle operators.

The Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the incident, stating that police received information about the attack and promptly moved to the area. Upon arrival, police engaged the bandits in a gun battle, which forced them to retreat.

However, the bandits had already killed two people before the police's arrival. DSP Rufai mentioned that efforts were ongoing to gather more details about the incident and to enhance security in the impacted communities.

Additionally, it was noted that a previous attack in Tofa community had resulted in injuries and abductions.
