Bandit Attack in Sokoto Kills Five, Injures Three

On Thursday evening, a bandit attack in Kebbe Local Government Area, Sokoto State, resulted in the deaths of five individuals and injuries to three others. The attack primarily affected Girkau community and surrounding settlements within Girkau Ward.

DSP Ahmed Rufai, the spokesman for the Sokoto State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that the police are still gathering information regarding possible abductions. A local resident, Abubakar, reported that attackers invaded Dukura and Jabga communities, killing one person in each location and abducting several residents, including young boys and girls.

The attackers reportedly spent hours in the area, moving freely and leaving with a significant number of cattle. The incident has heightened security concerns in Kebbe LGA, which has faced similar attacks and cattle rustling.

Residents are now living in fear of further attacks. The police assured the community of their commitment to protecting lives and property.
