Bandits kill vigilante, abduct family in Katsina community

In Katsina state, suspected bandits attacked the Sabuwar Unguwa Kofar Kaura area, killing a vigilante member and abducting a man, his wife, and daughter. The incident took place around 3 am on Tuesday when gunmen stormed the residence of Anas Ahmadu, behind the Gidan Rodi Steel Rolling Company.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, shot dead Abdullahi Muhammad, a 25-year-old vigilante member who tried to resist. Residents described the scene as chaotic and called for increased security measures to combat the rising cases of banditry in Katsina.

The police spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the attack and stated that calm has been restored in the area, with a manhunt launched for the assailants. The Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, visited the scene and deployed additional personnel to rescue the victims and apprehend the attackers.
