Bandits Release 17 More Abducted Kogi Church Worshippers, Total Freed Now 24

Bandits released 17 additional abducted worshippers from the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Aiyetoro Kiri Bunu, Kogi State, after sustained negotiations and ransom payments. The total number of freed worshippers now reaches 24, with the initial abduction occurring on December 14, 2025.

The Kogi State government was not involved in the negotiations. The community efforts, including the EGB Mekun platform, played a crucial role in securing the victims' freedom.

Despite tragic outcomes with some victims confirmed dead, negotiations continue for the remaining captives.
