Bandits Kill Vigilante in Midnight Attack on Katsina Village

In a recent incident, bandits launched a midnight attack on Kewar village in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the death of a vigilante member named Isiya Kewar. The heavily armed terrorists fatally shot civilians during the raid.

Following the attack, a joint security operation involving troops from Operation Fansan Yanma and the Nigerian Police was immediately mobilized to the area. Security expert Zagazola Makama revealed that a sustained gun battle ensued, forcing the attackers to flee the village.

The slain vigilante, Isiya Kewar, aged 32, was identified as a native of the community. A manhunt has been launched to track down and apprehend the fleeing bandits.

Despite ongoing peace deals, the region continues to face repeated attacks by bandits, highlighting the persistent security challenges in the North-West region, particularly in rural communities.
