Bandits Kill 14 in Katsina Attacks, Dozens Injured

On Tuesday evening, two separate attacks by suspected bandits in Katsina State resulted in the deaths of at least 14 individuals and injuries to dozens more. The first attack occurred around 8:00 PM in the Dandum Musawa Local Government Area, specifically in the Jikamshi Community, where gunmen opened fire on residents who were sitting outside their homes, leading to the death of 11 people and injuring 13 others.

The victims were reportedly caught off guard, and many fled in different directions to escape the gunfire. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

In a subsequent attack around 6:10 PM, three more residents were killed, and 11 others sustained varying degrees of gunshot injuries. The Katsina State Police, led by spokesperson Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the incidents and stated that a joint security team engaged the bandits in a gunfight, successfully foiling further attacks.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for these violent acts.
