Bandits Seize Plateau Village, Convert Church into Mosque, Displace Residents

Bandits have seized control of a village in Musher Chiefdom, Bokko Local Government Area, Plateau State, renaming it and transforming a local church into a mosque. The violent invasion, which occurred last year, led to the displacement of families, who are now struggling in poor conditions in displacement camps.

The community leader, Amo Gyang, revealed the harrowing details of the attack, where 10 residents were killed, and the villagers were forced to flee. The survivors are now scattered across IDP camps, facing dire circumstances.

The plea for government intervention to restore the community to its rightful owners and enhance security in the area has so far gone unanswered.
