Barau Congratulates Abba Yusuf on APC Governorship Ticket

Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, congratulated Abba Yusuf for winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket for Kano State in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The affirmation event occurred on Thursday at Sani Abacha Stadium, where thousands of APC supporters from 44 local government areas attended, despite heavy rainfall.

Barau confirmed that the process adhered to the guidelines of the Electoral Act. He moved a motion for Yusuf's affirmation, which was seconded by Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, with Barau serving as the chairman of the APC congress committee.

Following the declaration, Barau expressed confidence that the residents of Kano State would renew Yusuf's mandate in the governorship elections scheduled for February 6, 2027. He also expressed optimism regarding the APC's performance in the national assembly elections set for January 16, 2027, emphasizing the party's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the people.
