Senator Barau Wins APC Ticket for Kano North 2027

On January 16, 2027, Senator Barau Jibrin clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Kano North senatorial district during a primary election conducted at the APC headquarters in Bichi Local Government Area. The event saw participation from thousands of party members across 13 local government areas in Kano North.

The chairman of the APC electoral committee for the Kano North senatorial primary election, Hon. Shehu Isa Direba, called for party members to affirm Senator Barau as the APC candidate.

Hon. Musa Yahaya, chairman of the APC national assembly primary election committee for Kano State, sought unanimous endorsement from party members.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the process, which was deemed peaceful and orderly by Mr. Abdulrahman Haruna, the leader of the INEC monitoring team.

Kano State Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed confidence that the people of Kano North would overwhelmingly support Senator Barau and the APC in the upcoming elections.
