Barau Commends Tinubu for Peaceful APC Primaries

On Wednesday, Jibrin Barau, the Deputy President of the Senate, praised President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in promoting unity and ensuring a peaceful conduct of the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries. Barau emphasized that Tinubu's commitment to internal democracy and cohesive party rule has facilitated a consensus arrangement across several states, which helps to ease tensions and minimize conflicts among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He attributed the growing stability within the APC to Tinubu's extensive political experience and understanding of grassroots politics. Barau noted that the President continues to guide party leaders towards reconciliation and unity, which is crucial for creating a conducive atmosphere for the emergence of candidates and preventing disputes that could weaken the party's electoral strength.

He also acknowledged the role of Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, the President's Special Adviser on Political Affairs, in promoting harmony among party members nationwide. Barau expressed optimism that the peaceful conduct of the primaries would strengthen the APC and improve its chances in the upcoming elections.
