Senator Barau Dismisses Aide Over Anti-APC Allegations

Senator Barau has terminated the appointment of his aide Rashida due to allegations of engaging in activities that could incite supporters and undermine the All Progressives Congress (APC). This decision was communicated in a statement by Shitu Madaki Kunchi, the Deputy Senate President’s aide on media and public relations, on September 28, 2026.

The dismissal follows the earlier removal of another aide, Umar Alhassan, known as King Indara, who was let go for a controversial social media post targeting Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The statement indicated that the actions of Rashida and others were seen as attempts to weaken Senator Barau's political standing and the APC in Kano State.

It was noted that some individuals accused of undermining Barau had previously benefited from his support and appointments but later turned against him and the party.
