Barcelona Signs Rodri from Manchester City for £65m

Barcelona has reached an agreement to sign Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City for around £65 million. The 30-year-old midfielder, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2024, is expected to finalize a four-year contract with the Spanish champions shortly.

Rodri has made 298 appearances during his seven seasons at Manchester City, a tenure that began when he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a then club record fee of £62.8 million. Although he faced challenges due to a serious knee injury during the 2024-25 season and a hamstring issue in parts of the previous season, Rodri returned to form at the World Cup, where he led Spain to their second title and was named player of the tournament.

His departure from Manchester City comes after he has won 12 major honors, including four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three EFL Cups, and the Champions League in the 2022-23 season.
