Barcelona Signs Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for £8.6m

Barcelona has finalized the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal on a permanent deal for a fee of £8.6 million (10 million euros). This transfer follows reports from BBC Sport indicating that the deal was nearing confirmation.

Jesus, who has faced challenges in recent seasons due to injuries, found himself lower in the pecking order at Arsenal, especially with the arrivals of Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres. Prior to the transfer, Napoli had expressed interest in Jesus, but he ultimately joined Barcelona, the reigning Spanish league champions, after passing his medical examination on Monday.

Jesus joined Arsenal in 2022, where he made 123 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Jesus was not training with the squad, hinting at his departure.

This transfer marks Barcelona's third acquisition from the Premier League this summer, following Anthony Gordon and Rodri.
