Bariga APC Youths Support Balogun, Reject Challenges

The Coalition Bariga Youth Progress has issued a statement defending the candidacy of Hon. Morufu Alli Balogun for the Lagos State House of Assembly, following the APC primaries held on May 20.

The group accused certain party stakeholders of orchestrating a campaign to discredit Balogun and replace him with a preferred candidate, despite the outcomes of the internal party process. They described this alleged move as undemocratic and contrary to the principles of fair internal democracy, urging the APC to respect the wishes of its members.

The youth leaders warned that any challenge to Balogun's candidacy could create unnecessary tension within the party at a crucial time ahead of the 2027 general elections. They called on prominent APC leaders, including former Bariga Local Council Development Area Chairman Hon.

Kolad Alabi and Senator Anthony Adefuy, to intervene and help prevent further divisions. The coalition praised Balogun for his grassroots engagement and loyalty to the APC, reaffirming their support for him and urging party members to unite.
