Bart Nnaji Foundation Launches N25m Palm Wine Challenge

The Bart Nnaji Foundation has initiated an Innovation Challenge to enhance palm wine harvesting methods, encouraging participants to design safer techniques that eliminate the need to climb tall palm trees. According to David Nwobodo, representing the foundation, the challenge aims to address longstanding issues in Nigeria's traditional palm wine industry while preserving cultural values.

The competition is open to undergraduate students and those in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). A total prize pool of N25 million will be awarded, with the first-place winner receiving N10 million and the remaining N15 million distributed among three other finalists.

Dr. Ifeabunik Joseph Dioha, a professor at Admiralty University of Nigeria, emphasized the importance of practical engineering solutions for community development.

The registration for the competition closes on May 27, 2026, and participants are encouraged to develop innovative ideas that can directly impact society.
