Osun Government Denies Fraud Allegations Against Adeleke

The Osun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has formally rejected allegations of multi-billion naira fraud, describing them as "baseless, malicious, and politically motivated." The allegations were reportedly made by the Osun Youth Initiative for Good Governance, with Kolapo Alimi claiming that funds were diverted by the governor's Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinley, and the Accountant General, Rashe Olaleru Alabi, without legislative approval. The government firmly denied these claims, stating that there has been no diversion of public funds and that the office of the Chief of Staff is not responsible for state treasury management.

The statement emphasized that all financial operations are conducted within regulatory frameworks and that the Adeleke administration is committed to transparency and prudent financial management. Furthermore, Osun State achieved a 100% score in the fourth quarter fiscal transparency assessment, ranking among the top-performing states in Nigeria.

The government urged the public and media to disregard the allegations, framing them as a political smear campaign.
