Taraba Lawmaker Advocates Support for Basketball Academies

Hon. Tanko Abubakar Yusuf, a member of the Taraba State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Taraba State Basketball Association, called on stakeholders to support the Amateur Basketball Academies (ABA) to revitalize basketball in Nigeria.

This appeal was made during a two-day coaching clinic held in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State. He expressed confidence in the abilities of local coaches and players, urging them to remain focused and united.

Aliyu Lucky Abubakar, the President and founder of ABA and a Deputy Comptroller in the Nigeria Customs Service, encouraged participants to adopt the new vision of the Association, emphasizing the clinic's theme “DRIVE,” which stands for diligence, respect, inspiration, value, and education. Coach Bulus Hussaini, Chairman of the Taraba State Sports Development Commission, opened the clinic and promised government support.

The clinic involved 25 academy coaches who received training on various coaching topics.
