PDP Faction Plans Supreme Court Appeal After Ruling

The Taminu Turaki-led faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its intention to appeal to the Supreme Court after the Appeal Court upheld a Federal High Court ruling that invalidated the party's national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15-16, 2025. The judgment was delivered by Justice Uchechukwu Onyemenam, stating that the Turaki faction failed to comply with constitutional provisions required for conducting a valid national convention.

In response to the ruling, the faction issued a statement through its National Public Secretary, Ini Ememobong, warning that implementing the judgment would cause significant hardship for its members. The faction's legal team has been directed to take immediate steps to file an appeal with the apex court.

They expressed optimism that the Supreme Court would resolve the dispute swiftly and urged their members to remain steadfast and trust that they will ultimately prevail in this legal battle.
