Bauchi APC Caucus Rejects Governor Bala Mohammed's Proposal

The Bauchi State APC caucus convened on Tuesday night in Abuja, where they unanimously rejected Governor Bala Mohammed's proposal to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). This decision was disclosed by Sama Ila Dahuwa, the chairman of the Bauchi APC caucus and a senator representing Bauchi North.

The caucus expressed concerns that admitting Governor Mohammed, who is currently a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), would be detrimental to the party's cohesion and credibility in future elections. The meeting followed reports that Governor Mohammed was considering a defection to the APC or the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by March 31, 2026.

The caucus firmly stated their position against the governor's proposal, emphasizing the need to maintain the integrity of the party amidst ongoing leadership crises within the PDP.
