Bauchi APC Caucus Rejects Governor Bala Mohammed's Admission

The Bauchi State APC caucus has firmly rejected a proposal to admit Governor Bala Mohammed into the party, expressing concerns that such a move would undermine the party's cohesion and electoral prospects. During a meeting held on Tuesday night in Abuja, the caucus, led by Chairman Senator Sama Ila Dahuwa, unanimously agreed that Mohammed's history of public attacks against President Bola Tinubu and the APC, including statements perceived as divisive, disqualified him from membership.

The caucus noted that Mohammed has neither retracted his statements nor made efforts to reconcile with party leadership, nor has he offered a public apology. They emphasized that admitting him would compromise the party's stability and credibility in Bauchi State.

The caucus also criticized the failure to consult key stakeholders within the Bauchi APC regarding this matter, highlighting inconsistencies in internal democracy. Mohammed had previously resigned from the PDP to contest the 2023 elections and defected to the APC earlier this year, citing internal crises within the PDP.
