Bauchi APC Executives Defect to People's Redemption Party

Executives from the Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected to the People's Redemption Party (PRP). Key figures in this defection include Samaila Kaila, the APC state deputy chairman, and Ibrahim Makama, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives for the Misau/Dambam federal constituency.

They announced their resignation from APC, citing persistent imposition of unpopular candidates and a lack of internal democracy within the party. The defectors expressed their support for the 2027 governorship candidacy of Senator Shehu Buba Umar on the PRP platform, describing their decision as a step toward promoting justice and fair leadership in Bauchi State.

Maiwada Bakoji, speaking on behalf of the defectors, attributed their exit to poor leadership and neglect of grassroots party members. The APC's state chairman, Muhammad Hassan, did not respond to requests for comments regarding this mass defection.
