Bauchi Deploys 2,176 Forest Guards for Enhanced Security

The Bauchi State Government has formally inaugurated 2,176 forest guards as part of efforts to strengthen security and protect forest reserves across the state. The event took place during a parade held at the Bauchi Police Training School, with Governor Bala Mohammed represented by Deputy Auwal Jatau.

The initiative aims to restore security in forest areas that have become hideouts for criminal elements. The newly recruited forest guards will undergo training to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Governor Mohammed emphasized the importance of discipline and integrity among the guards, warning against misconduct that could undermine public trust. Concurrently, Gombe State is set to receive 1,056 new police officers as part of the Nigeria Police Force's plan to recruit 50,000 personnel nationwide.

This recruitment aims to address the acute manpower shortage within the police force, which remains significantly below international standards.
