Bauchi State Appointees Must Resign for Elections by April 24

The Bauchi State Government has issued a directive requiring all political appointees who wish to contest for elective positions in the forthcoming party primary elections to resign from their appointments by Friday, April 24, 2026, if they have not already done so. This announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity.

The directive aligns with the statutory requirements of the government concerning public office holders' participation in the electoral process, ensuring full compliance with the law. Gidado acknowledged the contributions of the appointees to the development of Bauchi State and wished them success in their future endeavors.

Furthermore, he emphasized that appointees must hand over government property and responsibilities appropriately within their respective ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
