Bauchi Governor Orders Security Forces to Combat Crime

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has mandated security forces to eliminate criminal elements operating within the state to restore peace for residents. During a State Security Council meeting on Thursday, he directed security agencies to continue joint operations, particularly in areas like Alkaleri, Ningi, Ganjuwa, and Toro, where recent successes were noted.

Mohammed urged increased patrols, dismantling of criminal hideouts, and enhanced surveillance in vulnerable border communities. He warned traditional rulers against supporting criminal activities and stated that offenders would face legal consequences.

The Governor reaffirmed the state's commitment to bolstering security agencies with better logistics and technology and called for collaboration with local communities. He commended the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, NSCDC, and other security operatives for their efforts in dislodging terrorists from Mansur village, which allowed displaced residents to return home.

Despite these successes, he cautioned that criminal groups from neighboring states might infiltrate Bauchi and ordered further intelligence-driven operations.
