Bauchi Governor Establishes 13 New Emirates and Chiefdom to Enhance Governance

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has signed a bill establishing 13 new emirates and one chiefdom in the state, including areas like Burra, Darazo, Gamawa, Toro, and others. The move is part of a reform initiative to strengthen local governance, address perceived injustices, and foster unity among diverse groups.

The governor emphasized the need for transparency and consultation in the reform process, warning against any attempts to disrupt peace. The new traditional institutions are expected to play a crucial role in local development and revenue generation.
