Bauchi State Seeks Approval to Create 29 New LGAs, Total to Reach 49

Bauchi State is pushing for the creation of 29 additional local government areas, as revealed in a document obtained by the Daily Trust. The Deputy Clerk of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Yerima, has submitted a proposal to the National Assembly seeking approval for the constitutional amendment.

The move aims to increase the current 20 LGAs in Bauchi State to 49, catering to the state's estimated 10 million population. The proposal is pending ratification by the National Assembly, as per constitutional requirements.
