Bauchi Governor Declares Work-Free Day to Honor Late Islamic Scholar

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed declared Friday, November 28, 2025, a work-free day to honor the late Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away recently. The governor urged citizens to join in funeral prayers and pay their respects.

The decision was made to show respect for Sheikh Bauchi's contributions to Islamic scholarship, Quranic education, spiritual mentorship, and peace promotion. The funeral prayer is scheduled to take place the following day in accordance with Islamic rites.
