Bauchi Governor Praises FG for Bandit Crackdown Success

Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Applauded the Federal Government for its efforts in ridding Alkaleri Local Government Area (LGA) of bandits. He highlighted a major crackdown led by the Nigerian Army, which dismantled bandit camps across forest corridors linking Bauchi, Plateau, and Taraba states.

In a press conference following a closed-door meeting with security agencies and traditional rulers, Governor Mohammed reported that soldiers overran bandit camps, destroying logistics in the Dajin Madam forest. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for decisive actions that neutralized approximately 20,000 bandits.

The operations included the deployment of four warplanes that successfully bombed several camps, disrupting criminal activities. Governor Mohammed emphasized the need for a balanced approach combining enforcement with rehabilitation opportunities for surrendered bandits.

He called for community cooperation with security agencies and announced plans to strengthen local security systems, including biometric data collection and monitoring in public spaces.
