Bauchi Troops Neutralize Bandits in Military Operation

Troops in Bauchi State successfully neutralized bandits in a military operation that dismantled several camps in forest areas, as disclosed by Governor Bala Mohammed. This operation was part of a joint military effort involving the Nigerian Air Force and intelligence agencies, supported by local vigilant groups.

During a state security council meeting, Governor Mohammed urged residents to comply with new security directives and stressed the need for public cooperation to consolidate gains and ensure lasting peace. He noted that the scale of bandit presence in the forest areas exceeded initial estimates, with significant concentrations reported in the Dajin Madam forest, which is adjacent to Taraba State.

The operation aimed to disrupt the bandits' logistics and supply routes, destroying access to food and fuel, and scattering survivors. Governor Mohammed also revealed plans to strengthen community profiling and biometric data capture of residents to prevent ungoverned spaces, reaffirming the state government's commitment to work closely with security agencies and traditional institutions to maintain peace.
