Troops Dismantle Bandit Camps in Bauchi State Operation

Troops from the Nigerian Army, specifically the 33 Artillery Brigade, have intensified operations in Bauchi State, successfully overrun multiple bandit camps and dismantled their logistical networks. The operation targeted entrenched positions within Dajin Madam Forest, including the long-standing Azug Hari camp.

Military sources confirmed that several bandits were neutralized during the clearance operation, while others fled under heavy pressure, abandoning weapons and makeshift infrastructure. Troops also took custody of family members fleeing the bandits, including six women and 13 children, and destroyed motorcycles used by the bandits.

The operation led to the recovery of items such as AK-47 magazines and tramadol, highlighting the bandits' reliance on drug trafficking. Following the operation, troops established a firm hold within the forest to prevent bandit regrouping.

Recent air strikes reportedly made no contact, suggesting significant disruption of bandit movements. The ongoing operations are part of a broader strategy to dismantle the criminal ecosystem and prevent future attacks.
