Bauchi Residents Suffer After Bandit Attacks Force Displacement

Residents of Bauchi State are lamenting their plight following a series of bandit attacks that have forced them to abandon their homes and livelihoods. Ibrahim Wakili, a traditional leader from Jauro Hamlet near Digar Village, described the harrowing experiences of families who sought refuge in Digar after being dislodged from their hamlet.

The attacks have created a persistent atmosphere of fear, with reports of abductions and killings. Nuhu Turaki, another displaced resident, recounted losing a child during the attacks and emphasized the dire need for security to allow families to return home.

Hashim Pali, a coordinator for a coalition of northern groups, condemned the attacks, highlighting the loss of innocent lives and the displacement of residents. He called for urgent government intervention to restore peace and safety.

Additionally, Sani Rijiyar Lemu, a renowned Islamic scholar, urged citizens to intensify prayers for divine intervention, stressing the government's responsibility to protect lives and property.
