Bauchi, Stakeholders Back Gender Policy To End Out-of-School Children Menace

Stakeholders in Bauchi have expressed support for the Gender Policy aimed at addressing the issue of out-of-school children. The National Gender Policy on Education was discussed at a workshop in Bauchi State, with decisions made on its adaptation, enactment, and implementation in educational institutions and communities.

The workshop, coordinated by Seun Justin Onarinde of the Young Leaders Network (YLN), emphasized the importance of translating the policy into actionable work plans and budgets to ensure its effectiveness. Participants highlighted the need for public awareness and accountability in disseminating the policy to all stakeholders.

The State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam, emphasized the collaborative effort required for successful implementation, while stakeholders stressed the importance of ensuring that the policy benefits all children, especially girls, by providing them with the opportunity to complete their formal education.
