Bayelsa Declares Holiday for President Tinubu's Visit

The Bayelsa State Government has announced a work-free day on Friday, April 10, 2026, to facilitate the visit of President Bola Tinubu. This decision was disclosed by Koku Obiyai, the state commissioner, who emphasized the importance of the visit for the residents.

The state is preparing to welcome the President, who is expected to inaugurate four significant legacy projects during his visit. These projects include the state-owned gas turbine, a 60-kilometer dual carriageway, and a 630-meter bridge linking Angiama and Oporoma in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Koku Obiyai urged residents, including traders, to comply with the directive to ensure a smooth and successful visit from the President, who is referred to as the "father of the nation" and "commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.".
