Bayelsa Governor Diri Mobilizes Residents for Tinubu's Visit

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has called on the people of the state to turn out en masse for President Bola Tinubu's visit scheduled for April 10, 2026. Speaking during an Easter Sunday service at St. Peter's Anglican Church in his hometown of Sampou, Diri emphasized the significance of the presidential visit as an opportunity for Bayelsans to showcase their renowned hospitality and warmth. He highlighted the inauguration of critical projects during the visit, including a 60-megawatt gas turbine project aimed at improving electricity supply, which is vital for economic growth. Additionally, the Angiama-Oporoma bridge, a historic milestone for the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, will be inaugurated, providing access to Yenagoa for the first time in 60 years. Diri reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the state's development and urged residents to uphold peace and unity, reflecting the values of the Ijaw people. The service was attended by various dignitaries, including his wife, Dr. Gloria Diri, and Deputy Governor Peter Akpabio.
