Bayelsa Declares Holiday for President Tinubu's Visit

The Bayelsa State Government, led by Ebiuw Koku Obiyai, announced a work-free day on Friday, April 10, 2026, in preparation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's visit. This decision was made to enable residents to partake in activities associated with the President's official visit, during which he is expected to unveil several government projects.

The announcement was made on Thursday in Yenagoa, with the government emphasizing the importance of a smooth and organized visit. Residents, particularly traders, have been instructed to close their shops to welcome the President.

Among the projects to be commissioned is a state-owned gas turbine located in Opolo, as well as a 60-kilometer dual carriageway stretching to the Onopa LNG area and a 630-meter bridge connecting Angiama and Oporoma in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
