Bayelsa Government Denies Relocation of NDU Health College

The Bayelsa State Government has officially denied reports suggesting plans to relocate the College of Health Sciences of the Niger Delta University located in Wilberforce Island, Amassoma. In a statement issued on Wednesday by Chief Press Secretary Daniel Alabrah, the government described the speculation as unfounded and originating from misinformation.

Governor Douye Diri has not approved any recommendations for such a move, nor is it under consideration by the government. The statement highlighted that both the College of Health Sciences at NDU and Bayelsa Medical University currently face limited admission quotas, making relocation unnecessary and potentially disruptive to academic progress.

The government urged residents to disregard the rumors and warned against spreading false information, stating it would take legal action against those perpetuating such claims, particularly on social media. This clarification comes amid social media speculation regarding the college's future location, reaffirming the government's commitment to enhancing medical education in Bayelsa State.
