Bayelsa Governor Diri Advocates Respect in Politics

On Wednesday, during the flag-off of President Bola Tinubu's second tenure bid at the Oxbow Lake in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri called for unity and respect among politicians as campaigns for the 2027 general election commence. He emphasized the importance of issue-based campaigns and urged members of the PBAT Door to Door Movement to emulate Tinubu's democratic approach by being persuasive rather than combative.

Diri expressed confidence that the South-South region and Nigerians would re-elect Tinubu, commending High Chief Government Ekpemupolo for his support of the movement. He highlighted Tinubu's commitment to democracy, recalling the president's role in ensuring free and fair elections during his own governorship bid in November 2023 and in the recent Osun State governorship election.

Diri congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his electoral victory and reiterated the need for inclusive and persuasive campaign strategies to support Tinubu's agenda for national development.
