Baze University Appoints Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi as VC

Baze University has appointed Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi as its new Vice-Chancellor, with the appointment taking effect on May 6, 2026.

Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi, the Registrar of Baze University, announced the appointment, which was approved by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed.

The selection process for the new Vice-Chancellor was described as rigorous and competitive. Prof.

Adeniyi is recognized as a scholar in media epistemology and will succeed Alhaji Lawi, who previously served as the Director of Human Resources. The Board expressed confidence in Prof.

Adeniyi's leadership and optimism that the new leadership team will advance the university's mission, strengthen its academic standing, and enhance administrative excellence. The Board also called on staff and stakeholders to support Prof.

Adeniyi as he assumes his new role.
