Anglican Bishop Urges Faithfulness Among Church Workers

On Sunday, at the Cathedral Church of St. John in Akinmoorin, Oyo State, Rt. Rev’d Olufemi Familoni, the Anglican Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of Oyo South, urged church workers to demonstrate commitment and faithfulness in their service to God.

During the licensing and commissioning ceremony for 10 pioneer lay readers, Familoni emphasized that true service in God’s vineyard requires deep commitment and faithfulness, stating, “It is better not to offer yourself for God’s service than to offer yourself and not be faithful.” He referenced the biblical story of Saul to illustrate that obedience is more valued than sacrifice. Familoni encouraged the new lay readers to view their roles as a privilege and to set a positive example for future members.

He prayed that they would effectively proclaim God’s word and serve with humility, reinforcing the importance of hard work and dedication in advancing Christ’s Kingdom.
