NCYC Urges ADC to Resolve Leadership Crisis Independently

The Northern Consult Youth Council (NCYC) has issued a statement urging the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to focus on resolving its internal leadership crisis rather than dragging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) into its disputes. The NCYC's statement, released on Thursday, follows INEC's recent position that it will no longer accept correspondence from either faction of the ADC, specifically the factions led by David Mark and Rafiu Bala.

Mallam Ashiru Abu, representing the NCYC, described the ongoing crisis within the ADC as a clear indication of deepening issues that threaten its credibility as a political platform. The council criticized the ADC for blaming INEC and urged the party to prioritize internal reconciliation and respect due process.

The NCYC emphasized that political parties must manage their internal affairs in accordance with the law and warned against making unsubstantiated claims that could undermine public trust in democratic institutions.
