Nigeria Beach Volleyball Team Prepares for Nations Cup

The Nigeria national beach volleyball team is ramping up its preparations for the 2026 African Zone 3 Beach Volleyball Nations Cup, set to take place from July 3 to 7 at Badagry Beach in Lagos State. Coach Kayod Ajilor has expressed optimism regarding the team's chances of qualifying for the continental championship.

The training camp, currently in progress in Kaduna, includes 16 athletes—eight men and eight women—who are being prepared for selection to represent Nigeria. Ajilor emphasized the importance of improving players' physical fitness, endurance, tactical discipline, and technical skills.

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation, led by Engr Musa Nimrod, is prioritizing athlete welfare throughout the camp to boost morale. The team will compete against countries such as Benin Republic, Niger Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Gabon.

Coaches Felicia Amo and John Iwerima noted the players' commitment and focus during training, which aims to enhance cohesion and skill ahead of the championship.
