Nigeria Qualifies for Beach Volleyball at LA 2028 Olympics

Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), congratulated Engr. Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), and CGC Adewale Adeniyi MFR, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, for Nigeria's historic qualification for the beach volleyball event at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. This achievement followed Nigeria's victory over Morocco with a score of 2-0 (21-17, 21-10) in the women's final at the 2026 African Beach Volleyball Nations Championship held in Alexandria, Egypt, on Saturday, August 22.

Olopade praised Nimrod for his leadership and commitment to volleyball development in Nigeria and acknowledged Adeniyi's support for the federation. He emphasized that this qualification marks a significant milestone for Nigeria, ending a 16-year wait for the NVBF and creating a new chapter in the country's volleyball history.

Olopade expressed confidence in the potential of the volleyball and beach volleyball teams to perform well at the Olympics.
