Nigeria Qualifies for Beach Volleyball at LA 2028 Olympics

Nigeria has achieved a historic qualification for the beach volleyball event at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, following a decisive 2-0 victory against Morocco (21-17, 21-10) in the women's final at the 2026 African Beach Volleyball Nations Championship held in Alexandria, Egypt, on Saturday, August 22. Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), congratulated Engr. Musa Nimrod, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), and CGC Adewale Adeniyi MFR, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, for their roles in this achievement.

Olopade commended Nimrod for his leadership and Adeniyi for his consistent support of the federation and the sport's growth. He emphasized that this qualification marks a significant milestone for Nigeria, ending a 16-year wait for the NVBF and creating a new chapter in the country's volleyball history.

Olopade expressed optimism about the potential of the volleyball and beach volleyball teams at the Olympics.
